Hamilton Lodge School

Apply for a place

Hamilton Lodge is approved by the Department for Education as a school for Deaf children and also registered for learners with MSI and VI needs. All children and young people placed at HLSC have Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) identifying Deafness as their main SEN. We also have a significant proportion of pupils presenting with additional needs above and beyond their Deafness.

We are a non maintained special school, which means we are not funded by our Local Authority but by many Local Authority partners who place learners with us.

You will need the support of your Local Authority to place your child with us, unfortunately, at times this support has to be secured through tribunal. Advice and support to do this can be accessed through Independent Provider of Special Education Advice (IPSEA) who offer independent legally based advice and support in addition support can be offered by the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) who have advocacy services for Deaf children.
